FPG-82 bomb kit

The FPG-82 is a guidance kit initially designed for the standard Mk 82 500-lb (227-kg) bomb. The kit provides a glide capability that increases the range and precision of the weapon at a low cost.

The FPG-82 kit consists of a wing set that ensures a 7:1 glide ratio that provides a range of 44 mi (70 km) to 50 mi (80 km), depending on the launch altitude. An inertial navigation/GPS-guidance system and embedded electronics ensure precision guidance to the target.
