The S-13 is an unguided 122-mm air-to-ground rocket designed to penetrate hardened concrete bunkers and destroy runways. In its basic design the weapon is made up of an extended high-energy solid-propellant rocket motor with a penetrating warhead.
In Russian service, the rockets are generally launched from B-13L (aircraft) and B-13L-1 (helicopter) five-tube launchers.
