The AT-14 Kornet was developed to replace the AT-5 Spandrel. The AT-14 is a scaled-up AT-7 that uses laser-beam-riding guidance. This differs from semi-active laser homing used by laser-guided bombs (LGB). Such LGBs follow the reflected energy from a designator. The AT-14 uses a tail-mounted rear-facing laser receiver.
