The Norwegian-developed Terne anti-submarine warfare (ASW) weapon, when in service, consisted of a six-round launcher firing rocket-propelled depth charges. It was deck-mounted and protected by a clamshell hatch. The launcher was remotely controlled and received its targeting data from the ship's s onar.
