The Australian Ikara was a winged, anti-submarine missile, similar in concept to the French Malafon and the Soviet SS-N-14 Silex. The weapon consisted of a small, rocket-boosted airframe that carried a single, lightweight, acoustic homing torpedo out to the estimated position of a hostile submarine. When in service, the torpedo parachuted into the water where it autonomously searched for the target.

The missile had a narrow, deep fuselage, "cropped delta" wings set well back on...
