The SS-N-22 Sunburn is an improved version of the SS-N-9 anti-ship cruise missile. The Sunburn has a high supersonic speed, which makes it a very difficult anti-ship weapon to counter with existing ship-based anti-missile defense systems.
Three variants have been developed, with differences primarily in range and launch weight.
