The SS-N-2 Styx is an anti-ship missile developed for small combat craft. It was the initial Soviet anti-ship missile to enter extensive service, and also the first anti-ship missile to sink a ship in combat. It became one of the most widely used anti-ship missiles in the world.
This surface-to-surface missile (SSM) has undergone several upgrades, with the designation SS-N-11 briefly used to indicate the SS-N-2C version. The Chinese CSS-C-2 Silkworm was developed from the Styx.
