The CSS-N-4 Sardine is similar in appearance to the French Exocet missile. Also called the Ying Ji-1/-8 (Strike Attack), Hai Ying-4 and Eagle Strike in Chinese service. It is very flexible in the number of different platforms to which it has been adapted.

Those in service are versions launched from aircraft, surface ships, submarines and coastal defense batteries, each with a different name.

The missile's profile resembles the Exocet and it is housed in a similar ribbed container....
