The Prithvi Defense Vehicle is a follow-on to the Prithvi Air Defense (PAD) program (see "Variants," below). It features the overall fuselage shape of the PAD, but uses long-chord cruciform fins mounted on the lower fuselage ahead of the cruciform tail surfaces instead of the mid-fuselage cruciform wings on its predecessor.
