The SA-18 Grouse is an improved man-portable surface-to-air missile (SAM) derived from the SA-7 Grail and SA-14 Gremlin (see separate records for details). It is designated the 9K38 Igla 2 in Russian service. It is designed to engage low-flying maneuverable targets.
