The PL-7 (Pen Lung -7, or Air Dragon-7) air-to-air missile (AAM) appears to be a Chinese copy of the R550 Magic 1 AAM.
The missile is similar in appearance to the R550 Magic, with the latter's double forward fins and rear free rotating wings. The PL-7 uses an infrared (IR) seeker to engage targets.
However, the PL-7 is only capable of tail-aspect engagements up to 1.8 mi (3.0 km). The high-explosive (HE) warhead reportedly has a lethal radius of about 33 ft (10 m).
