The long-range AA-6 Acrid is the one of the largest air-to-air missiles (AAM) in Russian service (only the AA-9 is bigger). It is the principal missile armament on the MiG-25 Foxbat, although it is also deployed on the MiG-31. The missile is similar to the smaller AA-3 Anab. As with most Russian AAMs, the Acrid comes in both infrared (IR) and semi-active radar (SAR) homing versions.
