Anti-Tank Dog

The Russian anti-tank dog mine made its appearance during World War II and can be regarded as the first wide-area mine. The mine itself consisted of approximately 26 lb (12 kg) of TNT carried in two canvas pouches, one strapped on each side of a dog.
