Type 10 main battle tank

The Type 10 is the latest main battle tank (MBT) in service with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

The tank has a combat weight of 44 tons, which can be reduced to 40 tons to make transport easier. This weight flexibility is expected to give the Type 10 more strategic mobility than the heavier Japanese Type 90, which needs a dedicated heavy equipment transporter (HET) for deployment.
