The Mule forward area supply carrier (FASC) was designed after the lessons learned from the Russian experiences in Afghanistan, former Yugoslavia and Chechnya. It is a tracked armored vehicle built to carry ammunition, fuel and other supplies to forward units.
The Mule can carry the equivalent of three company-sized ammunition packages. The packages could be 622,000 5.45-mm rounds for AK-74 assault rifles and 253,000 7.62-mm rounds for PKM and PKT machine guns, or 240 Mukha (Fly)...
