The MT-LBu series of armored command and reconnaissance vehicles (ACRVs) are based on the 122-mm 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled gun chassis. The 2S1 was derived from the MT-LB general-purpose armored personnel and cargo carrier that is in widespread use in the Russian ground forces and naval infantry.
