The Yavuz was Turkey's first indigenous 8 x 8 tactical wheeled-armored vehicle. The fighting vehicle, manufactured by the Turkish Otokar firm, was capable of traveling on virtually any terrain with its independent suspension. It was developed in conjunction with Singapore Technologies Kinetics (STK) and based on the AV-81 Terrex. In addition to the vehicle's double-trunk protection, a "V"-shaped trunk provided maximum protection against mine explosions.
