The Multipurpose Vehicle (MPV) has been developed to meet South Korean army requirements. (It competed with Doosan Infracore's Black Fox and Rotem's KW1; as noted below, the KW1 Scorpion was eventually chosen.)

Samsung Techwin built prototypes for both the 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 configurations of the vehicle.

The MPV features a common chassis, powerpack, drive-line and independent suspension system. It has a high-power Cummins ISL 400 turbocharged diesel engine and automatic transmission....
