The LAV-H (light armored vehicle-high capacity) was a private development of General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada. It was a development of the LAV III and Stryker family of combat vehicles, as well as incorporating elements of the Piranha V vehicle developed for the British Future Rapid Effects System (FRES) program.
