The Boraq is a full-tracked armored personnel carrier built in Iran. It is similar to the Russian BMP-1 and the Chinese WZ 501 (see separate records).
Boraq is the name of a mythical winged Persian and Indian horse said to have transported prophets, including Muhammad. The name is occasionally rendered as "Boragh," "Buraq" or "al-Buraq."
