The BMS-1 Alacran (Scorpion) was an unusual half-tracked multirole armored vehicle that could act as a troop transport and could be used for assault and reconnaissance tasks.
The Alacran hull resembled that of the MOWAG/Cardoen 6 x 6 Piranha or Cardoen VTP-1 Orca and fell between the two vehicles in size.
