The SA-15 Gauntlet is a missile-launching air defense vehicle that is based on the 2S6 gun/missile vehicle. The Tor (Russian for the mythological Norse thunder god Thor), as does the 2S6, is fitted with a surveillance radar on the roof and a fire control radar in the turret front. It was designed to engage low-flying aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, standoff missiles and precision-guided bombs in the terminal phase.
