82-mm M59 recoilless rifle

The M59 82-mm recoilless gun is a short-range, anti-tank weapon. It is deployed both as a towed artillery piece and mounted on the OT-810 half-tracked armored personnel carrier. Recoilless guns can fire relatively heavy and powerful projectiles from a light mount. A secondary charge greatly reduces recoil by being vented through the breech at the same time the projectile is fired.
