The 45-mm M1942 anti-tank gun was towed on a two-wheel carriage. When the gun was in the firing position, the split trails were stabilized by a spade. The M1942 had a distinctive shield, with the wings being sharply angled back so that no portion extended over the tires. The top left-hand side of the shield was also curved, and higher than the right-hand side.
