Developed before World War II and based on a Swedish Bofors gun, the 37-mm M1939 single-barrel towed anti-aircraft mount is no longer in front-line Russian service, though it serves in numerous militaries.
The gun fires high-explosive fragmentation with tracer (HE-FRAG-T), armor-piercing (AP-T) and high-velocity AP (HVAP-T) projectiles.
