The 20-mm GAI-B01 AA gun uses the 20-mm KAB-001 cannon; it is capable of being employed in both anti-aircraft and ground-defense roles.

The KAB-001 is gas-operated and can fire singly or automatically. It uses three types of magazines: a 50-round drum, a 20-round drum or an eight-round box.

The gun mount is carried on a two-wheel carriage. It consists of the cradle; a pivot to allow elevation and traverse; a sight: and a tripod.
