The Egyptian M59-1M was a reversed-engineered variant of the Chinese 130-mm Type 59-1 towed gun. The primary differences between the Egyptian and Chinese versions were the lower rate of fire and shorter range of the Egyptian weapon.
The M59-1M had sighting equipment for target laying and a telescopic sight for direct firing at stationary and moving targets. The weapon fired high-explosive (HE) and illuminating (ILLUM) projectiles.
The M59-1M is no longer in service.
