122-mm D-30

The D-30 122-mm howitzer is a relatively powerful and maneuverable weapon. The barrel is fitted with a multi-slotted muzzle brake that absorbs 50 percent of the recoil energy. The gun is topped by a box-like housing over the recoil mechanism and mounted on a carriage.

The carriage consists of the gun cradle, traversable top carriage and lower carriage, which has one fixed and two movable trail legs.
