The 155-mm Type 75 self-propelled (SP) howitzer was similar in appearance to the U.S. M109A1 howitzer.
The hull and turret of the Type 75 were made of all-welded aluminum. The driver was seated in the front right side of the hull with the engine to their left. The driver had a hatch cover over his position that opened to the right; there were two doors at the rear of the hull.
