155-mm Type 19

The 155-mm Type 19 is a wheeled self-propelled howitzer developed for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. It is expected to replace the JGSDF's FH70 towed howitzers and complement the more expensive tracked 155-mm Type 99 howitzer.

The system uses the same 155-mm/52-caliber main gun with an interrupted screw breech used on the Type 99 howitzer. The gun can traverse 45 degrees left and right of center.
