The M-160 (M1953) 160-mm towed mortar is a breech-loading, trigger-fired weapon that replaced the older 160-mm M1943 mortar. It is used in mountain units.
The mortar fires a high-explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG) projectile.
status
The weapon is in service. Initial operational capability (IOC) was reached in 1953. The mortar is no longer in production.
