81-mm self-propelled mortar (China)

The 81-mm self-propelled mortar has been developed by China's North Industries Corp. (NORINCO) for the export market. The mortar is integrated with a 4 x 4 Dong Feng utility vehicle -- a Chinese version of the Humvee.

The system features an 81-mm mortar installed on a turntable at the rear of the vehicle. The turntable enables the mortar tube to be rapidly traversed through 360 degrees. The weapon can be elevated from -1 deg to +85 deg.
