81-mm M29 (Sweden)

The Swedish M29 81-mm mortar was a license-built French Stokes/Brandt Model 1917 mortar.

The mortar resembled most other pre-World War II weapons, having a rectangular base with carrying handle and a bipod that is connected by chains. One modification made to the French design was the fitting of Swedish sights.

The M29 fired a high-explosive (HE) projectile.

No longer in service.

Initial operational capability was attained in the 1930s.
