Nefer Uncrewed Turret

The Nefer is a remote weapon station developed by Aselsan, primarily mounted on 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 wheeled and tracked vehicles. It is optimized for use on armored vehicles, main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

The turret is also compatible with both NATO and Russian-origin weapons.

The turret is protected to the Level II STANAG 4569 against ballistic threats of 7.62mm API (Armor-Piercing Incendiary) caliber.

The system features remote control capability, automatic target tracking, and automatic ballistic calculation.

The turret can be armed with a 25-mm or 30-mm caliber automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm or 12.7-mm coaxial machine gun.

30-mm MK44 Automatic Cannon, 30-mm 2A42, Automatic Cannon, 25-mm M242 Automatic Cannon, 25-mm KBA Automatic Cannon, 25-mm M811 Automatic Cannon.

Co-axial weapon options:
12.7mm M2 Machine Gun, 12.7mm NSV Machine Gun, 7.62mm FN MAG58 / M240 Machine Gun, 7.62mm PKT Machine Gun.

In service. According to Aselsan, the Nefer is active in over 16 countries.

Otokar presented a version of the Arma 8 x 8 armored vehicles fitted with a Nefer weapon station, armed with one 30-mm automatic cannon and one 7.62-mm coaxial machine gun at IDEF in August 2021.

It was reported in May 2022, that Bahrain was in discussions with Aselsan for the purchase of Nefer-L systems.

In 2019, the Turkish ground forces began efforts to modernize their ACV-15 armored fighting vehicles. The upgraded vehicles included the Nefer weapon station. The first deliveries of the first five upgraded vehicles began on Dec. 1, 2023. Deliveries were expected to continue through 2024.

Nefer-L

The Nefer-L (or Nefer Light) is a variant of the Nefer systems optimized for lighter platforms, such as light armored vehicles, utility vehicles or naval vessels. It is equipped with smaller caliber weapons such as the 12.7-mm machine gun or 40-mm automatic grenade launcher.

Standard equipment of the NEFER-L includes a day and night imaging system, automatic target tracking system, laser range finder, and computerized ballistic firing system.
