The BAU-23 is a one-person remote-controlled weapon station that is designed to defeat ground and aerial targets.
The turret is armed with a pair of 23-mm 2A7M cannons with a rate of fire of 850 rounds/minute each and a range of 2,190 yd (2,000 m). A total of 200 23-mm rounds are carried.
