The D-10 100-mm rifled gun is the main armament on most T-54 and T-55 main battle tanks (MBTs). It was developed from a Soviet naval gun, entering production soon after the end of World War II.
The gun fires high-explosive (HE), HE-fragmentation (HE-FRAG), fin-stabilized HE anti-tank (HEAT-FS), armor-piercing (AP) with tracer (AP-T), capped AP with tracer (APC-T), high-velocity, discarding-sabot AP with tracer (HVAPDS-T) projectiles.
