The Lakshya (Target in Sanskrit) pilotless target aircraft (PTA) is a domestically produced target drone for the Indian armed forces. Efforts have been made to turn the aircraft into a reconnaissance vehicle with a digital flight-control system, as well as into a cruise missile. The air vehicle can be launched from land or sea through a zero-length launcher. It is controlled from the ground by telemetry and recovered by parachute landing from both land and water.
