The ATD-X (Advanced Technology Demonstrator-X), also known as the Shinshin or Spirit, is a Japanese program aimed at demonstrating stealth and other advanced fighter technologies and ensuring that Tokyo will not have to rely on foreign countries for key military technology. It is also aimed at preparing the military to defend against stealth aircraft.
