The DHC-8, commonly known as the Dash 8, is a twin-engine, short-range airliner that has been adapted for a number of military and civilian special mission roles. It is the smaller successor to the four-engine Dash 7, but does not display the earlier design's short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities.
