The Antonov An-225 Cossack (the Russian name is "Mriya," or Dream) was an enlarged version of the An-124 Condor**. It has been used for oversized cargo transportation as well as a transporter for Russian space shuttle orbiters or Energia booster rocket components. It has been called the largest aircraft ever constructed, taking off with the highest gross weight and carrying the greatest payload.
