The Airbus A310 is a development of the A300 twin-engine wide-body airliner that carries as many as 220 passengers. In payload and range it falls between Boeing's 757 narrow-body and 767 wide-body airliners.
Among the 260 that were built between 1983 and 2000, 18 entered military service as transports; four were to be converted to a multirole tanker transport (MRTT) for the Luftwaffe.
