Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF)
The BLF was founded in 1964 by Juma Khan Marri in Damascus, Syria. It fought in the many waves of violence in Pakistan’s Balochistan region following Pakistani independence in 1948. The group was one of many in the region that advocated for independence or increased autonomy for the minority region, which is rich in resources but highly impoverished.
