The First of October Anti-Fascist Resistance Group (GRAPO) was founded after the death of Spanish dictator Francisco Franco in 1975, with the purpose of establishing a Marxist state. The previously outlawed Communist Party of Spain-Reconstituted (PCE/R), which later became the political counterpart to GRAPO, was founded the same year.
