Wielding The New Excalibur

The prototype of the electric-driven unmanned combat air vehicle Excalibur,
developed by Aurora Flight Sciences Corp., Manassas, Va., made its first
vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) flight test in June at Aberdeen Proving
Ground, Md. Its configuration allows both VTOL and high-speed flight modes.
The half-scale test model of the aircraft is 13 feet long with a 10-foot span.
