Strengthening Syrian Air Defenses

Iran fielded the domestic Bavar 373 air defense system, an upgrade of the 
Russian S-300, in a ceremony on Aug. 22, 2019 (shown above). The system
reportedly has a radar range of 200 miles and fires missiles with a range of 
about 50 miles. Tehran recently signed an agreement with Syria to provide
Bavar 373 and Khordad 3 SAM systems to strengthen Syrian air defenses.
