Members of the Islamic State-Central Africa Province pose in front
of a building in Quissanga on the coast of Cabo Delgado province
in March 2020. One of the militants is holding a black ISIS flag. On
March 25, terrorists attacked Quissanga, killing six security personnel,
occupying the district administrator's residence and destroying the
district police headquarters. Islamist militants have been growing in
strength in northern Mozambique since they first appeared in 2017.
