On Oct. 1, wide-scale anti-government protests broke out in Iraq.
The demonstrators are seeking a new political system, improved
economic opportunities and an end to corruption. More than 300
people have been killed in clashes with security forces during the
nearly two months of demonstrations. Above, protesters set fire
