The Growth Of Nordic Defense Cooperation

The Nordic Battle Group, with about 2,700 troops, is one of 18 groups to be formed
by the European Union. A cooperation agreement was signed in May 2006 in Uppland,
Sweden, by (left to right) representatives of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia.

Is there a pan-Nordic Army around the corner? Not yet. Nevertheless, there is a growing trend toward the establishment of regional military forces, and this inclination is particularly relevant in Scandinavian and nearby nations.
