Duterte Lashes Out

The longstanding partnership between the Philippines and the U.S.
was abruptly thrown into doubt when President Rodrigo Duterte
announced that Manila was withdrawing from a Visiting Forces
Agreement with the U.S. The move would hinder bilateral military
activities, including the annual Balikatan drills. Above, U.S. and
