Russia's MiG fighter company has fallen on hard times since the end
of the Cold War, in part due to an overall neglect of the scientific and
research capabilities needed to support a vibrant defense industry.
Where MiG once had three plants producing MiG-29 fighters and
supporting research and development, the company is down to two
facilities hanging on with the limited remaining work. Above, is MiG's
